.53 Contact Alert Issue

Can someone else check this issue on their device.

Back when the Tour came out, many people were having issues with contact alerts who were set to vibrate and ring for messages did so properly out of holster, but did not while holstered. Here is the thread on it:

I upgraded to .53 and this issue is there and does not get fixed by the "workaround" listed in the thread. I have deleted all my contact alerts and recreated them, but to no avail.

Can someone confirm this is an issue or is it my device and I need to wipe or something to repair??

I had issues as well with .53. Had two contacts that were set with special tones for messages and phone calls by default for some reason. I had to create special ones to match my main one to get them to work. Have not had the issue on OS 5 yet.

I read around on the Blackberry Support forums and it sounds like this issue appears in .53 and is not there elsewhere.

To go back up to 5 or down to .40 is the question...

I had the same problem on OS 5. Have not tried going back to .40, but doubt that I will. Work around is good enough for me for now. Like .53 to much to downgrade.

I may stay here as well. With .53, this is truly my only complaint. I can certainly get by without the contact alerts I guess.

What workaround are you using? Simply getting rid of your contact alerts, or something else?

I noticed that it was only two certain contacts that was having the issue so I just went it and made the custom tone for them as my default ones. So went it and changed from that oldschool phone ring to the song I am using for my main ringer.
