Office 2011 for Mac - Desktop Software compatibility

Hi. I hope someone can help me as I have been searching and can not find info.

I have a Blackberry 9700 and am due for an upgrade in 2 weeks. I want to stay with Blackberry but I have had endless issues syncing my blackberry and mac. I am hoping that the new Office 2011 will resolve this problem.

Does anyone know if Blackberry has a release date for a new sync software that can sync with Office 2011 as I know from Beta testers that the current version does not sync.

All of this is an issue purely because I can not get my BB and Mac sync'd. I have tried so many "solutions" but none have worked. I still get things duplicating etc.

Thanks!

Is the Mac 2011 even out yet?

The 32 bit Windows version just go its sync a few weeks ago. Still waiting for the 64 bit.

Probably a question that you need to ask RIM.

BTW, I have a 9800 and have Mac Office 2008 and have no problems syncing.

I can confirm that it does not work with outlook 2011 as of now

Blackberry sync Mac

I got a new macbook pro running Snow leopard. I started off was follow.

I used Office 2008 with Entourage and tried syncing. I had appointments not syncing and contacts duplication. I then tried Pocket Mac and could not get it working properly either. Then I tried Missing Sync and also could not get past my sync problems.

I then started using iCal and Address book and Thunderbird for my mail. Initially it worked fine. Then suddenly my appointments (either created in iCal or on my BB 9700) would just not ring and notify. The my address book started duplicating entries.

I have even tried syncing my appointments via Gmail bus still no luck.

I love my Mac and I love my Blackberry but the sync issues are going to drive me to change either my BB or my mac. And it will probably be my BB.

Does anyone know of any other phone that has the functionality of a BB including proper push pop mail, and a real Keyboard. The touch screen thing just does not work for me as I have an iPhone 3GS and I just can not work with it the way I use my BB. I am not that fussy about playing media and browsing but I type a lot of emails in a day on my BB and need the proper business functionality it comes with.

I have been trying to find an address to e-mail rim but all I get is a pay for support thing and their forums are useless.

Any help will be appreciated!

Try google calendar and contact sync.

I have not had any problems with my MacBook Pro and DM for Mac.

Use Entourage 2008 and T-Bird/Lightning for email contacts and calender.

But I do use Google Calendar sync to keep calendars up to date on several different devices - BB, Mac and PC.

Office 2011 Beta 6 & BBDM for Mac 1.04

For now in the Outlook 2011 Beta 6 its not recognized in BlackBerry Desktop for Mac v 1.04; Notes only specifies Entourage. I just tried to sync and only Mail gets updated.

The best for you perhaps, but it isn't for everyone.

When I tried to use both Google Calendar sync and Entourage at the same time, I'd loose appointments for any time more than four weeks out. I'm on a BES, is that part of the problem (ie wireless sync with both Google and the BES)?

Alpha of Desktop Manager for Mac 2.0 - still shows Entourage; with no support for Outlook 2011 as of yet. Even with the help of Rontui here doesn't work with Outlook

believe you need to go on Entourage, Preference, Sync Service and check "synch contacts with address" otherwise, it won't copy the address on your BB to Entourage
; of course replacing Entourage with Outlook.

There have been many inferences made about this question, but since Office 2011 for Mac was released yesterday (10/26) is there any official word from RIM regarding the compatibility of Desktop for Mac and the new Outlook 2011 for Mac? I've been limping along synching various BB's with Outlook 2003 via Parallels, and I'd love to be able to remove one application from the Windows side of my Macbook.

Thanks, Jim

There is no current time frame when Calendar/Tasks/Memos will be supported by BlackBerry Desktop Software.
