Tour BBM Problem
 

All of a sudden a lot of my contacts say CONTACT IS BUSY after sending a message, this has never happened with the Curve or even previously with the Tour.

Sometimes it happens with the same contacts over and over and makes BBM useless.

Any idea how to fix or what is causing it?

Well, maybe the contact is busy...if they don't check their message after a while, it will show "contact is busy" and until they do check their message it will disappear. What version of BBM do u have? Have u tried pulling the battery?

I have BBM 4.7.0 and no I did not try pulling the battery, does that work?

The contacts arent busy thats the thing...its weird, sometimes it doenst go through for 20+ minutes and its on my end my friends are telling me.

Okay yah that sounds like it maybe either the BBM or the network ur on. How about u download BBM 5.0. Doesn't hurt to try that.

How do I go about that? I try to update my phone weekly, I did just plug it into the Blackberry Desktop Manager and there were no updates, so where do I go to get 5.0?

Another vote for 5.0. Never had an issue except when BIS was down. However, you will read from other users that the views on 5.0 BBM is mixed.

Just keep in mind that the BBM5 is leaked not-yet-released version, so this is at your own risk, but there are plenty of information on this version, and even how to go back to your previous version shouldyou have problems. But do share your results of the update with us so we can follow in your footsteps, you brave trailblazer.

I am getting this same message and also "contact is unreachable", however, the person I am contacting said they had a full signal of 1XEV. so it makes no sense. And when people say they get the "contact is busy" when they are contacting me, I am not using the phone for anything else and I am checking the messages as soon as I get them. When I asked my friend who is a VZW rep about this (she has a Curve), she said oh I don't know I've never seen that.

I am glad to know someone else has had the same issue. Just wish we had a good fix for it

I didnt know the BBM5 was unreleased, when it is supposed to be released?

I dont want to screw up my phone by downloading something that isnt even released yet

I figured I would practice what I preach and downloaed BBM 5.0. No problems yet. Seems to work quite nice so far actually. Works with my wifes phone and she is on the old version 4.7. Will update if I have any problems with it.

How difficult is it to download and install? I am a relative dummy when it comes to this stuff

If you go to the thread that Drummerboy was talking about all you have to do it click the link he posted in there from your phone. It will do it over the air. Real simple.
