Updating to latest OS
 

How do I update my 9800 Torch to the latest OS version for it ? How do i find out what OS version it currently runs ?

Thanks, I see it. It says "6.0 Bundle 695 ( v6.0.0.246, Platform 6.4.0.105 )".

Can this be updated ? I see update announcements on this forum; do I just choose the latest version for the 9800 Torch or do I have to look for some sort of compatibility for the current version I have ?

Unless something is broken, you may want to reconsider updating the OS. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I think the latest OS from AT&T is 6.0.0.600. So, yeah, you could upgrade. Like NJ posts, if it's not broke, don't fix it.

You can download the latest OS for your device from here;

Choose 9800 and you will see a list of OS versions you can choose from.

Thanks. That sight in your link is temporarily down for repairs or something.

I tried to use the Blackberry Desktop Software. When I plugged in my 9800 to my PC, it started charging. When I opened the Blackberry Desktop Software application it acted like my 9800 was not connected. How do I change from charging mode to whatever mode is needed for the Blackberry Desktop Software to recognize my cell phone ?
