Third Quarter revenue drops, but profit beats estimates
Fiscal third quarter revenue drops, but profit beats estimates.
Software and services revenue ($190 million) exceeds the expectations in the third quarter. Changing the focus from phones to software and technology is continuing to work well for BlackBerry. Will it be one of the top tech companies in the future? |
Re: Third Quarter revenue drops, but profit beats estimates
No. It will be a niche competitor in a crowded mobile security space. With a tarnished brand name.
I am sure that some will be waiting for the next BB 10 phone. |
Re: Third Quarter revenue drops, but profit beats estimates
I agree 100% with NJ, Blackberry made big mistakes and lost a very lucrative market when they dumped the original blackberry design and moved to Android and then again to a software company for business only. There are way too many phones with the ability to do Android apps and other than price almost nothing separates them.
As for the software side, we will have to wait and see but the stock is one indicator. From 2010 @ $70 per share to $12 today says a lot. |

But they have $3bn in the bank, BB10 and QNX will save the day and just wait for the next quarter when sales will improve.
Oh wait, those were from 5 years ago. |
