OS: 8310 4.5.0.174/4.5.0.124 (English + EastAsian)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.174 (EastAsia)
Contains English; from IndoSat
This will load to any carrier's 8310.

Package Version: 4.5.0.174
Consisting of:
  • Applications: 4.5.0.124
  • Software Platform: 2.7.0.92
  • File name: 8310EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel174_PL2.7.0.92_A4.5.0.124 _Indosat.exe
  • File size: 86.73MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...B53786A2C5FA09

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8310:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

For the previous OS, see this link:

Thanks to dynamicrockstar469 for finding this.

It does, downloaded, loaded and running fine with enterprise activiation nearly there.

ShaynePierce 01-14-2009 03:51 PM

Yep - loaded and everything works fine. Not sure what was updated, but seems to work fine. And yes, English is default.

Why do you ask that, when it was spelled out directly.

As a matter of fact, ALL RIM OS have English in them, we only state in the header posts of these OS threads because it is asked a dozen times if we don't.

Hey JS, why didn't you just sticky my 3 posts?

JSanders 01-14-2009 04:53 PM

I saw one of them after the fact. Sorry about that. I noted it in the thread.
But, yes you should get credit for posting it.

I have not seen the other two.

I am having a problem with this download. I saved OS to PC and everything seemed to go fine. Now when I try and run, I get part way through and encounter an error saying there is a problem with Data1.cab file and I can't continue. I can either abort, retry, or cancel. Any ideas? Thanks.

If you're having problems running the installation executable, you may need to try downloading again. You may have a corrupt executable.

chilly23 01-14-2009 06:36 PM

I am trying to run the file this time instead of saving first. We'll see what happens. Thanks.

I have to go with JSanders on this one. If it says English, why not believe?

Installed v4.5.0.124 but cannot see the option of viewing pictures or HTML in main messaging>Menu>options>email Settings (Only have confirm delivery, confirm read and send read receipts)

Sent service books (twice)

Suggestions please?

Downloading now. Anything new other than the usual bug fixing and space saving?

diarmuidg 01-15-2009 08:45 AM

I'm having issues downloading this. Is it mirrored anywhere?

Hello, same problem here.

hokie123 01-15-2009 11:00 AM

I upgraded to this version from 4.5.0.110 last night, and ended up downgrading back an hour later. I saw very sluggish performance, and no additional benefits.

Not that I am aware of... RIM servers are slow.
