Calendar Sync Issues - OS related?

So I would swear that I am having issues with my calendar due to an incompatibility between the OS I am using on my BB and the version of IntelliSync built into the blackberry DM 5.0.1.

I was having issues with my calendar syncing with my Outlook system. Specifically, when sync'ing, the DM would tell me that it needed to update either the Outlook calendar or the device calendar when, in fact, there were no changes made to either calendar since the last synchronization.

In fact, I could sync with a 2-way sync, let the process complete, and then ask it to sync again and it would see differences, despite the fact that I had not made any changes to either calendar.

The other odd thing is that if, for instance it appears there are 34 changes to migrate from my Outlook to my Blackberry, and I allow those changes to be pushed to the device, then when I sync again, the IntelliSync system identifies 34 differences on the handheld and attempts to push them back to Outlook.

So something is either changing on my appointments on the handheld, or the sync system is misinterpreting something.

I've installed the latest DM I could find, which appears to be basically the same version I was using before, 5.0.1, and I am running OS 5.0.0.509 (apps), 5.2.0.50 (platform)

I've cleared out my databases on my handheld and then pushed both the address book as well as the calendar data from my Outlook to my handheld trying to get a clean set of data on the handheld, but the sync'ing issues continue.

Have any of you run into this situation? It is driving me nuts and I am a heavy calendar user..

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
