OS: 8110 4.5.0.108/4.5.0.81 (English + East Asian Languages)

Software For BlackBerry 8110 (TM)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.108 (EastAsia)

Package Version: 4.5.0.108
Consisting of:

File name: 8110EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel108_PL2.7.0.78_A4.5.0.81_ Voda_Aus.exe
File size: 78.36MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download from https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...19656875EE557C

1. Make sure you have Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2 or higher installed.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.

Yup - 8120 and 8100...no 8110.

Ahhh...I stand corrected below....the 8110 was below (on the page).

gorip96 09-24-2008 04:20 AM

8110 is in the lower section

TroyDBrown 09-24-2008 04:23 AM

You have to scroll to the bottom of the list. 8110 is there. It is 12 down on the OS list.

JSanders 09-24-2008 05:53 AM

I see it.

And I am not wearing my Super X-Ray Glasses!

I am downloading this now, anyone get it installed with AT&T? Also will installing other country os's/network os's screw up the phone on the network?
Any new features/fixes found yet?
Thanks,

I just upgraded without incident and all of my apps appear to be working as expected.

I've had strange issues like my phone not receiving calls and losing my data connection all together. I had better luck with the .69 version for some reason. Although i'm still testing this one...

Everytime I try and update it I get a dead blackberry. Going to try not removing any modules this time around. Maybe I'm missing something here, though I've upgraded tons of phones in my time. This is the first time I've been having issues like this. Loads everything, then I get the SLOW blinking red light and it is really dead. I get it back alive only by loading the original OS from at&t.

danmcg 10-01-2008 02:56 PM

No go. Dead BB if I try any upgrade to 4.5. It gets through the loading system software then waits for device init forever and fails out because the BB becomes a slow blinking red death box. 4.3 Reloads with no issues every time. Also tried loading with a couple different versions of the Desktop Manager. 4.2, 4.3, 4.6...

My final attempt is with an older version of 4.5. If that doesn't work then the phone gets passed on with the 4.3 version of the OS.

All the OSs I installed came from other countries--with the exception of not being able to get the folder thing to work, they've all been just fine........

Can you tell me the link to get this OS for a Pearl 8110 through AT&T, I do not really want .81, I have heard that .69 is more stable. Please correct me if I am wrong. .81 will not install on my 8110. I am using DM 4.6 any help out there???? :?

Has anyone got an update on this? I have exactly the same problem. Tried multiple times to upgrade with DM 4.3 and now again with 4.6. BB goes into red blinking death sprial, and had to downgrade to 4.3 to get the BB live again.
