VPN tunnel successful indicator?
 

Is there a visible indicator that a VPN tunnel has been established with my corporate network? I have been working with my IT group to create a VPN tunnel on public wifi systems. I have been able to create the VPN tunnel, but the only way I knew the VPN was established was by going to a brower and either going to myipadress.com or an internal corporate website.

Are there any indicators/lights to show that the VPN tunnnel has been established? When I established the VPN tunnel, I got no confirmation dialog box and, to make it worse, I kept getting VPN password prompts even thought the tunnel was active.

Is there an app that can be used as is or modified to indicate that VPN connectivity has been made?
