Latest OS: 8310 4.5.0.313/4.5.0.188 (Multilanguage)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.313 (Multilanguage)
for the 8310 model only

Package Version: 4.5.0.313
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.188
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.110
* File name: 8310M_PBr4[1].5.0_rel313_PL2.7.0.110_A4.5.0.188.ex e
* File size: 91MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download OS here (choose Free Download Area > Endgeräte > BlackBerry > then your device model #):
Blackberry

Instructions for installing on ANY 8310 (regardless of carrier)
(Use Desktop Manager to backup your BlackBerry first, and then close Desktop Manager):

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."

If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

New OS ?

I always like updates, although we all know we aren't going to go past 4.5... So i was wondering what this new OS offers us? I'm just curious while i wait for the download.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Is it better than 4.5.0.110? What are the differences between 4.5.0.110 and 4.5.0.313
later edit: It seems i can't get past ''Connect to the device ROM''. :(

Just wondering if we will see any 4.5.0.200's I hope someone is still using the curve and noticing some of the glitches that need to be tweaked. can we make the Os smaller so there's more room on it?

There are some things that you can do to make it smaller before you load it on your device. One is to remove the cod files for PTT unless it's something that you use. Back when I was using an 8800 we did that kind of thing as much as possible because memory was so short. If you do a search you can probably find the instructions for doing it.

Check out Shrink-A-OS, which will allow you to remove modules you don't ever want to use, thereby shrinking the OS size. Easier than manually deleting COD files.
