Txt messages getting deleted

Can some one help me out here?

My text messages keeps getting automatically deleted which are greater than 1 month old. This was not happening on the curve earlier, but now with the Bold 2 older messages are automatically getting wiped out.

Can some one tell me how to avoild this on Bold 2.

Check your settings in messages and also delete unused apps. Messages will be deleted if your memory is full.

Go to SMS options, and set Validity Period to Max

This is a very bad idea in a 9700 series device.
