Remove SMS from Messenger (BBM)
 

I recently updated my BB 9700 to v5.0.0.862 (Platform 5.1.0.175).

Now SMS threads are again appearing in BlackBerry Messenger (BBM). I had this problem in the past, then there was a solution -- I recall an option to disable SMS threads in BBM. However, with the latest OS it now seems that option has either been removed or I simply can't find it.

Has BB re-introduced SMS in BBM? Have they removed the option for users to disable this? If it is possible to revert back to the old behaviour, how do I do this?

OS 5 and newer has threaded SMS. Always had, and there was never an option to change that.
To switch back to the "old way" you'd need to downgrade your OS to something prior to OS 5. Not an option for you on the 9700.

Ah ha! I found the problem. When upgrading the OS the installation rolled back the BlackBerry Messenger version to 5.0.0. However, if I use BB AppWorld and obtain the latest BBM v5.0.1.41 then the option
"Show Text Messages From Contacts Linked With BlackBerry Contacts"
is available again (which I un-tick to remove SMS from BBM).
