How to Remove Logo From BlackBerry

i have black berry model BB9000 and i want to remove startup logo so plz any one have solution plz tell me

You cannot remove the startup logo. It is burned into the firmware. There is no way to remove it. No one can remove it. Reloading the OS will not remove it.

Actually, you can purchase an unbranded device and it won't have the carrier logo... though it will have RIM's logo :)

one way or another tho, a logo is going to be there either RIMs or the carriers... no matter what you cannot get rid of it

Well if one obtained the engineering OS they could update it..but that requires 1 of 5 security dongles from RIM's headquarters ;)

All this time NJB is telling us it can not be done and it looks like that is NOT true!

So, could I like use a picture of my cat to replace the carrier splash screen?

Of course not.

I have never heard of anyone actually doing this....

Although, it can be done, by a few.

And I am quite sure the original poster is not one of them. And Greg isn't one of them either.

Anyone who cares to not violate their NDA would not post here anyways. And for the few of us that have had access to the engineering firmware on the various devices no some of the things that can be done.

For example..the whole UMA on ATT's 8820...it can be enabled via the engineering firmware for testing purposes but that's it...once the user reflashed the standard OS, those settings would be reverted. Even with the engineering firmware, you could only change the Boot LOGO with that firmware...once flashed, I believe the hard-coded rom would take over again.

The OP asked can they get rid of the splash screen. Answer: No

I am sure any of us could do anything if we had the right dongle but thats not the issue.

I don't know what the fascination with the splash logo is. Who cares if it's there. I never reboot my BB anyway so I never see it :)

I'm actually always GLAD to see mine on reboot, cause that means the security check is next in line and reboot is complete.

Out of curiosity, is this tied to RIMs vendor ID specifically in the firmware also? Engineering firmware wouldn't work on any other carrier branded device, would it?

Not tied to the RIM vendor ID. We all remove that each time we load another carrier's OS.

Actually, yes it's tied to vendor ID. We remove the association for OS loading to the vendor ID. We don't/can't remove the vendor ID on the device itself. This ID does determine how the OS is loaded to the device and what options are enabled/added.
