*bump*

happening this weekend

tdawg00 06-06-2008 05:10 PM

And this is confirmed to be the BIS upgrade??

ricpac 06-06-2008 05:19 PM

No Sir. It only said its purpose is for administrative configuration. No update yet as to when you guys are going to get BIS v2.5.

BIS v2.5 tonight in APAC.

JSanders 06-06-2008 05:19 PM

^^thems the facts as written.

tdawg00 06-06-2008 05:24 PM

Wirelessly posted (8320)

so that means we ever get one????

JSanders 06-06-2008 05:28 PM

I have not seen a North American maintenance outage stating specifically BIS 2.5, but I suspect it is coming, as one of the AsiaPacific maintenances for this weekend does specifically deal with "BlackBerry Internet Service v2.4 upgrade to v2.5" and "BlackBerry Internet Service v2.5 - feature activation".

We can't be that far behind.

ricpac 06-06-2008 05:34 PM

BIS 2.5 here tonight. I hope it'd turn out okay.

Am I reading this right? Starts at 2 AM and end at 6 AM EDT but only affects 30 mins? Shouldn't be 4 hours?

I think the keyword is "window", that means it can start anytime from 2am EDT to 5:30am and still be able to finish before or at 6:00am EDT

JSanders 06-07-2008 12:08 AM

^^That is correct. You will see them vary in the duration of service impact from 10 minutes to over an hour, and usually in that same window for North America.

ArtVandelay 06-07-2008 06:00 AM

Neither my wife nor I have gotten emails since about 6 PM Eastern last night. Still nothing. Seems to be well outside the proposed window.

Is there some other issue? She's on AT&T and I'm on Verizon. Both are managed by our companies and we work for different companies (both use BES).

ArtVandelay 06-07-2008 06:02 AM

Scratch that - pulled the batt and when restarted got a whole bunch of emails in as well as new Viigo articles.

tdawg00 06-07-2008 11:30 PM

I wonder why a company based in North America would upgrade the North American BB servers last??

John Clark 06-07-2008 11:34 PM

If there's a problem....it happens there first! ;-)

Very true

And, I am guessing the larger user base is here in NA. Upgrade the smaller user base first as a testing ground.
