Re: Leaked 9700 Bold OS 6.0.0.499
Having no leaks, with this or the 3 previous versions - no reboots required for weeks (days with this version so far).
Also, map positioning using cell towers working just fine. Why battery pull? That's like pulling the power cord on your computer instead of choosing "reboot". Just press LAlt+RShift+Del. |

When I open blackberry maps, and I am not in a location where GPS is availible, immediately the Sat-icon with a red X appears on the upper left, and will not go away, whatever I do. What application did you use for mapping ? (I think google maps will work, but, not bbmaps or applications which use the default settings of the OS) |
Re: Leaked 9700 Bold OS 6.0.0.499
Im having a weird installation issue with this release. I download the OS file, then try to run it - it extracts, them gives me an error, saying it cannot extract the msi file to the temporary location... And then it exits.
I've downloaded the file from two different locations to check for corruption, and have tried running it as administrator in case that was the problem... Any ideas? |

It's easier than getting the programmer to fix their leaky app!

Re: Leaked 9700 Bold OS 6.0.0.499
Well, I managed to sort my problem out - every answer I could find for the error I was getting suggested that either the registry or hard drive on my machine was to blame - and then as an afterthought they generally said that it was also possible the file was partially corrupt. So after running a deep drive scan and thoroughly checking my registry out with absolutely no errors, I just started downloading it again and again. The 6th download worked. :-/
I find it so hard to believe that when downloading a fairly large file that that 5 times in a row, from various sources on the net, that it would come down corrupted each time. Never seen anything like it... |
Re: Leaked 9700 Bold OS 6.0.0.499
This release is not working too well for me - 448 was nice and stable and I had very little problem with it after upgrading bbm to fix the cursor issue, but 499 is giving me issues with keeping BIS running over 3G, and seems to perform slower in apps like facebook. I've had to drop down to 2G and live with EDGE to keep BIS running. I hope a further upgrade is leaked soon - its just too much like hard work to downgrade to 448 again. I'll just live with it for a while. :-/
