Downgrading from 190 to 185

I have all 3 OS's on my PC 167, 185 and 190. Upgraded my Bold to 190 but I have an app that no longer works, so I want to downgrade. I uninstalled the 190 version and reran the apploader and its not recognizing the downgrade. Am I missing something, a step here?

Help is appreciated.

deleted the vendor.xml?

Search the entire PC for it, in hidden and temp folders as well.

When you ran the App Loader, did you do Update or Add/Remove?

update, it should of detected the lower OS and showed a status of Downgrade on the core apps

In the DM go to Help > About. What does it say on the Device Software tab?

mikadad 12-04-2008 03:09 PM

version is 4.7.0.32

mckinneycm 12-04-2008 03:18 PM

No the Device Software tab....It should list the BB version 4.6.0.185. Also, you might want to downgrade to 4.6 DM, 4.7 is real buggy.

ok I went to DM 4.6 and in the software tab is lists 4.6.0.167 and 4.6.0.185

i just recently downgraded from .190 back to .185

this is what i did and it worked w/ no problems...

-1st i backed up my phone

-then disconnected phone and closed Desktop Manager

-go to control panels>add remove software & delete Blackberry 9000 software

-download .185 from BlackBerryForums (y) and save it on desktop

-open up the newly saved .185 on desktop and install .185 on computer

-delete vendor.xml

-open Desktop Manager and connect phone.

....Then you will be asked to install .185
