Blackberry Pearl 8120 wont download bb messenger =[
 

I go to the blackberry site and try to download the blackberry messenger over my phone and it says "Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry Messenger for Software Versions 4.0 and 4.1." so then i tried it on my computer to use blackberry desktop manager to load it on there and i get the same message. anyway to fix this? my pearl pretty new and i dont see why it wouldn't be able to handle a simple application. thank you

I believe the BBM version on the site is for OS 4.5 now. So you might want to try updating your OS (which may install BBM anyway)

The website download is for pre-4.2 devices that did not have bb messenger bundled. If you do not have it you need to download the handheld code for your device and use the application loader to load it on the device.

BBM is included in the OS of your device. Devices with 4.1 and 4.2 didn't have it, hence the download. Use DM and Application Loader as mentioned above to reinstall it.
