Ringer Volume Problems?

Okay, I have my very first BB. It's the 8830 World Edition. Carrier is Alltel.

Anyway, my question is in regards to the ringer volume. Have I missed something or is the ringer not as loud as the media player? I have used custom tones for some of my contacts which pull from the music folder. The problem is that the ringer is not very loud especially compared to if I am just playing the music via the media player. I have checked the ringer level and have it set to loud and volume to high.

Is there something I am skipping or is this just how it works? Thanks in advance!

Man has this one been talked about on these forums. I have an 8830 and the ringer volume (or lack thereof) blows. Search on 8830 Ringer Volume and you will see:

No worries. Hopefully this will be taken care of with the next os version. The last update had something like 'volume enhancement'. I noticed no difference. Stay tuned.
