MAC users: trouble with Safari and BWC?

Mac users-

Anyone have problems using the web client and Safari? I cant seem to delete messages--- after checking the selection box, the "delete" button is still greyed out. Using my wife's PC, IE does this fine.

I know that RIM states IE is the only supported browser... but does anyone have a workaround (other than wireless reconciliation and deleting on the device)? Im a bit surprised they dont seem to support firefox either.

Thanks!!

At best I've always Safari to be well, awful. I seem to have little issue with FireFox and the BWC.

Yes unfortunately the BWC was designed to operate with Internet Explorer, all other browsers have issues in the delete area in particular, Safari, Firefox, Opera, etc.

I'm having the same problem with my boss's BB & Mac...trying to find a solution. I tried soft & hard deletes off the keyboard to try to trick it but no luck either.

Anyone find a solution yet?

thx,
karen

There will be a re-write of the webmail interface for BWC which should solve those browser compatibility issues. I don't know when it's going live though.

Thx BBAdmin...good to know; I'll watch for it.

In the meantime...in case anyone else is stuck: our workaround has been to install IEMac (on OS 10.4.4). This seemed to do the trick, tho it's a hassle to have to start another browser just to manage BB e-mail...oh well, life of the Mac users I suppose ;-)

enjoy-la!

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 7520: BlackBerry7520/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3)

You think if RIM was trying to be as secure as they are would NOT use IE and offer support for FireFox and Safari

Yeah nearly all of their online installs use activex and tie into the desktop manager.
