Installing the Blackberry Administration API

Hi all

I need to install the Blackberry Administration API's on my BES 5.0 server so I can use Rove MobileAdmin (also installed on the BES) to manage my BES remotely.

Problem is, I have downloaded the API installation files from RIM and when I run the msi installer, it gives the following warning:

Incompatible Blackberry Administration service was detected
Detected version: 5.0.0.137
Required version: 5.0.0.142

Continue YES / NO

I don’t want to say YES in case something breaks, but have looked at the RIM support site and can’t see any updates for BES (for exchange) to put BAS to v 5.0.0.142 and can’t see a API setup that will work with 137

Has anyone come across this before or have you any idea if things will go realy wrong if I ignore the error and select YES!!

Thanks
Merlin

You need to apply MR1 is my guess but I haven't seen the error myself.

Why would you guess apply MR1? It was just released yesterday ... Have you seen MR1 resolve similar issues?

I would contact Rove to see what they say.

Hi all

I downloaded MR1 yesterday and tried the API again and it worked without error this time.

Just wondering if RIM released the API to work with MR1 before MR1!!

Anyway, all working fine now!

Just happened to come across this post. The BAS and BAA are required to be the same version. Upgrade BAS, then you need to upgrade BAA. Need to upgrade BAA, then you need to upgrade BAS first.
