Lol, the Chinese input support is all there. I'm actually testing this OS on an unlocked AT&T Curve with a T-Mobile SIM to see if the new OS will take on the service books correctly, or if it's still a lost cause for TMo users.

I'll load this OS update onto my Curve later on and see if there are any improvements over the 4.2.2.222 OS.

Indeed. I also altered the .alx files to add the CDMA themes from the 8830 devices (Verizon, Bell Mobility, etc.), and I'll see how those go as well.

Downloading it now and will put it on my O2 provided Curve. Will post results shortly!

They work fine as with previous releases

Nextel User 08-02-2007 02:40 PM

how do you alter the alx for more than adding the AT&T Icon
O2 Today
O2 Zen
Orange Icon
Rogers Zen
Telefonica Zen
TIM Zen
T-mobile EU Zen
T-mobile US Zen
Vodafone Today - Green (the old version)
Vodafone Today - White (Brand New)
themes?
is the CDMA theme there also? same procedure to just remove the "102"?

Nextel User 08-02-2007 02:43 PM

also seeing as how slow the OS downloads are? (mine is almost done for this version. would anyone be interested in creating a torrent so that we can distribute it faster?

(i can make it.)

Nice find. Edited with instructions and stuck thread. Downloading now and will post .alx's in the Edited .alx sticky thread later tonight.

Any word on the Service Book issue? I posted the same note in the OP as in the last OS sticky thread. If the service books come through we can remove the note.

JC

Spencer_CDS 08-02-2007 03:07 PM

Testing with the TMo user ... doesn't seem to be getting that service book. Sorry, TMo customers, looks like you're stuck with the O2 OS for now. =\

Crupp 08-02-2007 03:17 PM

Should I use the blackberry.alx that I am currently using (with the themes i want) or start fresh for some that I did not have access to. I am running Chineese 4.2.2.114

Nextel User 08-02-2007 04:01 PM

Not sure if this is new (or even what it does)...

Options>Security>Software Tokens??

Other than that, I haven't noticed much of a difference.

Okay, here's what I've found on this, straight from the BTSC (click here for the article):

Quote:

Token-based credentials are network security credentials that use a token formed by combining a unique identifier, called a seed token, and another variable. Successful network authentication requires a valid token.

There are two different types of token-based credentials: hardware tokens and software tokens. Hardware tokens are tokens generated by a physical device separate from the network client device and software tokens are generated by software residing on the network client device.

The RSA SecurIDŽ Library (a cryptographic library) on the BlackBerry smartphone periodically generates a software token for network authentication.
...take that explanation as you will. No clue here.
