Can't restore SMS messages
 

I have successfully transferred almost all information from my Tour to a new 9930 Bold. Phone History, Phone Logs, and SMS Messages did not want to transfer ("dimmed entries are read only" error message in Blackberry Desktop Software), so I deleted the Desktop SYNC service book, as recommended in other threads, ran restore again, and undeleted the service book.

I have now successfully restored EVERYTHING except SMS Messages, which appeared grayed out regardless of the Desktop SYNC service book. Any ideas on how to restore the SMS messages without getting the IT department involved (this device has BES activated on it)? Thanks.

It worked, it worked, it worked. I don't know how, but it worked (but probably by deleting the Desktop SYNC service book and undeleting it again). Good night.

Well, I spoke too soon. Blackberry deleted all of my SMS messages older than 30 days (what a STUPID default setting), and now I need to restore the old backup again.

I deleted the Desktop SYNC service book, but the SMS restore option is grayed out again. Help!
