Skype???

Do any of you know if Skype will work in any of the new phones with BB10?

Re: Skype???

Currently it will only work on some Verizon devices here in the US. As for BB10, your guess is as good anyones at this point.

Wrong. There is Skype in BB10. It sucks. It's a port from Android.

I see a lot of people saying Skype on 10.1 works pretty well.

It actually does. Very few problems from my end.

I guess I should clarify that it doesn't integrate into the system well and it has halved my battery life.

I have used Skype twice now, on my wife's 920. Called my folks back home. Even with a good connection, I'm just not impressed with the call quality or video.

Maybe I expected more - after all, everyone's been begging for it on BB since last year, talking like it's the greatest thing in the world. Honestly, I don't get the hype.

Re: Skype???

I guess since it is on every other mobile OS it was more of an expectation (and failure to deliver). It wasn't and will never be a critical app for me personally.

It's critical to me whilst overseas in order to save on roaming bills.

I can see why you dislike it then.

No, it does not replace the full functionality of Skype.

I hear you can sideload the android version but it isn't "awesome" as I understand it.

It's not.

It's ported from android but there is a preview. It does burn through you battery charge though from what I heard.

You can get it straight from bbworld. No side loading necessary.... Originally. I think that was required though
