9810 & Battery Issues

Hello all,

I'm wondering if any other 9810 users have been experiencing battery issues recently.

Yesterday my battery went to 1% extremely rapidly (in under 5 hrs) and after an overnight charge only charged to 90%. A "jump start" brought the battery back up to 100% but this was only a momentary fix. It seems that once I remove the blackberry from either the wall charger or USB it will immediately drop to 90%.

After speaking with Rogers BTSC it seems that they have had multiple calls come in recently with the exact same problems as described. Could this be the result of the new os? Is anyone recently experiencing battery issues?

It's still within it's 0-30 day warranty, so I'll be replacing it if the "jump start" and os reload are unhelpful.

Thanks,
--Phil

Re: 9810 & Battery Issues

Have you let your battery run down below 20% more than a few times? Lithium batteries anc be damaged if allowed to run down below 20% on a somewhat regular basis. It is best to keep them topped up when near a power source.

There have also been some issues reported in some of the more recent OS updates that note reduced battery life. Might try the search feature or reading through the help and 9800 sections.

Re: 9810 & Battery Issues

This specific device and battery is less than 1 month old and within its DOA period, so I am getting a new device.

however, the battery had never run down past 20% before this incident.
