Verizon to release 148 this weekend

Verizon finally releasing BlackBerry Storm update this weekend

I have the leaked .148 version. I have a simple question. If I want to upgrade to the offical version coming out sunday, will I need to downgrade or something? I may just completely wipe my phone and start out that way again.

Don't bother. There's no difference between what you have any what the carrier might release.
.148 is .148

I surely hope so because .148 is the business

jdmevo8 05-29-2009 04:12 PM

I reall hope they come out with different themes though. .148 beta is the best one out there right now. very stable and works like a charm. the little differences that i notice is awesome.

Just talked to a tech guy and the official release for .148 is 5/31/2009 15:00est to download using computer and 22:00est for the OTA. Hope it's worth the wait:-)

I've heard this many times before. I sure hope it is true this time as I am getting more frustrated everyday running the slow .75.

I haven't seen anything this specific before. I'd say it's gonna happen. Keep the faith!

Which method of upgrade will produce the best results?
Download through Desktop Manager online, or Over-the-
Air through Verizon?

ernhrts3n8 05-30-2009 04:53 PM

is 148 better than 122?

Andyn 05-30-2009 05:11 PM

How much better does .148 make the Storm compared to .75?

jdmevo8 05-30-2009 05:37 PM

It runs almost 10x better. More stable Operating System. Full keyboard with portrait view. Cut and paste is much easier as well as highlighting an item. Hold 1XEV much longer and the browser is much quicker. I just hope that there will be added themes like the today theme would be nice.

Awaiting this with anxious anticipation!

Hey do we know if the battery life will be addressed in this 148 update? I noticed that 132 made my battery last a bit longer.

Themes? What?

project86 05-30-2009 08:03 PM

Themes.. go to Options/Themes and you will see the ONE theme that Blackberry decided to add to the phone. You can download more, but they are huge and use up the phone space. I wish Blackberry would have thought to add the feature to install themes and apps to either the memory card or a storage card you buy like PDA's offer. I have a Dell Axim that gives you that option and that thing is like 5+ years old!

A friend of mine has a verizon phone unlocked on a diff network...she wants to know if it would be ok to update to .148 in that it won't affect anything such as relocking the phone. I don't know the answer to that so I putting it forward...thanks guys

You said .148 beta is the best one. Its the only theme since .75.

mud.pony 05-30-2009 08:52 PM

I've been running the offcial .122 since its release on bell & its been great. I'd like to know the differences in that & .148. I mean I'll upgrade anyway. LOL But would just like to know. At least my warranty will be back!

Right. I suppose BB didn't want to put more themes on the phone because of space issues. You have to uninstall programs on the phone as it is to free up space, like the Help file and Flckr, etc, stuff you don't and will never use.
