Re: auto focus

Can't see means what? If autofocus is not happening, not working, then try a hard reset.

A hard reset is accomplished by pulling the battery, with the power on, and waiting at least 30 seconds before putting the battery back.

Re: auto focus

Ok, what are you doing? For example, are you trying to change the autofocus setting?

Quote:

Change the autofocus setting
1.On the Home screen, click the Camera icon.
2.Press the Menu key.
3. Click Options.
4.Change the Auto Focus field.
5.Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save.
If so, what is not working? Maybe you are trying to do something else. But what, and how is it supposed to work, and what isn't working?

Yes, there are fake BlackBerrys. How did you come by yours?

Following is link to the manual for the 9650:

Re: auto focus

Thank you very much. You have been very helpful. But how do I tell a fake BB from a real BB? Mine is unlocked one from Verizon.

Re: auto focus

By chance do you have a BlackBerry data plan on your mobile service account and have BlackBerry data services working on the device?

Re: auto focus

Yes. That is what I'm using right now. Everything is working except the auto focus. And i just discovered that the PIN in that white label below the battery is different from my phone PIN which is not normal. Theu are supposed to be same.

Re: auto focus

Sounds like someone used the case, or part of a case, from another BlackBerry (with the lable) to replace the a broken case on what you have. That is a relevant fact would have been good to have mentioned originally.

If you were able to add that device to a BlackBerry data plan then it would see it is genuine. Maybe not the device you thought it was, but a BlackBerry.

Menu problems are always corrected with a hard reset so far as I know. Note that when you do a hard reset, do it with the power on, and wait at least 30 seconds. You might do it again and wait a good minute this time.

Of course this all assumes the model you have has autofocus. I looked up the model you state and it does. However, when you go to the About screen in options, what model is shwon on that screen?

Re: auto focus

I have chkd the about and it reads bold 9650. OS 6.2. I don't know how to bring on the auto focus to menu and get it activated. All other things are working perfectly. Thank you for your time. Regards.

Re: auto focus

I'm out of ideas. You could try wiping the OS and reloading, but I doubt that is needed. See what others say.

Re: auto focus

You are right. It may be caused by OS. 6.2 is one of the earliest versions of BB OS 6 and has some problems. Can I upgrade to 6.6 or even 6.7? Thank you for being there for me.

Re: auto focus

Pressing the "menu" button while in camera mode should only give you the option of:
Autofocus: "Single Shot" or "Off"

To actually access the feature that actually controls the type of auto focus like macro mode, you need to click the icon on the bottom right of the screen when the camera is up.

This icon is either: an "A" a "flower" a "moon" or a "white square" when clicked it will give you the "Scene Modes" menu and the option of selecting between: "Auto" "Close Up" "Night" or "Text"

I'm running a 9650 with 6.0 Bundle 3049

Re: auto focus

@CameRoun, I can't even see the auto focus (single shot only) if I clicked the options menu when the camera is on. Maybe I will upgrade to the latest version of OS. Thank you all.
