Import contacts into BB 9800 Torch
 

New to BB just left Sprint and moved to Consumer Cellular and don't think it is possible to transfer me contacts from the Sprint Sanyo, non smart phone.

So, I would like to type all of my contact information into an excel spreadsheet and then import that into the BB. Now this may not be possible so please let me know what kind of format I need to type all the contact information in and what do I need to name the fields, or in what order do I need to put the contact information in to be able to sync it to the BB.

Hmmm, maybe I'm going down a rabbit hole, focusing.

OK, do I have to input the contact one at a time in the BB, or can it read and import/sync all the contacts at once. And if so how do I do it.

I'm new here so please avoid buz words that are common knowledge to veteran forum users, I confuse easily, simple is good.

If you have the contacts on your Sim you need only do the following:

1. Touch contacts
2. Press the menu key
3. Touch Sim Phonebook
4. Press Menu key
5. Touch Copy All Contacts

Sorry guess I didn't make my situation clear.

Have BB with new SIM card, no contacts on it yet.
My old phone doesn't have SIM card.
Contacts still in old phone but no way to get them out.
I would like to input all my contacts on a computer rather than using that tiny KB to input 200+ contacts one at a time.
Then import that list of contacts into the BB.

That's what I need to do.

If you Google "transfer contacts from sanyo xx to blackberry xx" replacing the xx with your model numbers, before you search, I think you will find a method.
