For anyone who think Verizon has the best network
They had the slowest download speeds of the big 4, even TMO.

I saw the article. Maybe its become more of a marketing thing. |

So you're saying download speed for a few people determines the best? |
The best network is really the one that works best for you where you need it - where you live, work, travel and play. I just love all of these marketing reports saying that one network is better than another. It really all depends on the user.
As for speed, that depends on so many factors, most of which are out of your control. Some are: the connection itself, your device processor and memory, your distance to the tower, tower congestion, even weather can play a role. Again, it boils down to which carrier works best for the individual consumer is the best for that person. |
that poll is so bogus its not funny. i dont think it showed one carrier correctly.

if they want to compare the speeds, take 1 device, and use it on all networks, so devices are factored out of the equation. since they have alot also to do with speed. for ex: iphone 3g does not work in my elevator, curve works, samsung eternity works. 3g device, edge device and a hsdpa(3g+) device. so you think through put would also be a variation? devices are all made different and with that, besides weather/location/congestion getting a real speed test is a joke. i still agree with Dubdub. and the poll is just bs. |

Sprint is not faster than Verizon everwhere. My daughter has a Sprint 8330and I have a vzw Tour, previously had a vzw 8330. Both of my devices download web pages faster than hers, we even tested it with the same web pages at the same time. And she gets tons of dropped calls all over this area and I very rarely ever get a dropped call.

only congestion would be cell phone to cell tower, which would result in dropped calls, dropped data packets, network speeds are more device specific then anything. and which would indicate a speed test cant be done. att, verizon and sprint all 3 backbone the internet. which is where most cell phones calls travel through, till they hit a pbx and get dumped into the local calling area landlines. |
