Verizon uncrippling the gps?

I hear that Verizon is in the works of actually letting people download other gps services for the 8330. Is this true? If I get a 8330 now will I be able to update it later and unlock the gps? Also I heard that Verizon disabled some bluetooth features on the phone what can i not exactly do?

Haven't heard that - you can already download the apps, but won't have use of actual GPS location services without subscribing to VZnav. I don't see VZW removing the lock on the GPS.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry Curve 4.6.0.62)

Its in the works but there isn't any time frame. What BT features are supposedly disabled.

...they'll also work with a BT GPS puck.

I concur. Use a puck for now.

Yes I have the GPS 2000 blue teeth puck.

I would love to have free use of my GPS without having to subscribe to VZNav, however I do find VZNav to be very handy.
