OS 4.5.0.102 For 8300 & 8320 Found Online!

Found the OS in the same places. I have loaded it on my 8320 a few hours ago. So far so good. Hope this build fixes the UMA to EDGE handoff ;-)

Anything noticeable stand out as changed or fixed in this one that you can see? One annoyance I'm hoping to see fixed is the default Zen wallpaper shows when you're on a call (that blue with the wavy dots one). Back on 4.2.2 it at least was a blank white screen.

The other annoyance is I want to be able to disable the bold title font on new messages, hoping that makes it into a 4.5 release... (it looks like crap when using the BBMilliBank Tall font)

Well have been using this build for almost 24 hours and I can say my two biggest gripes seem to be corrected. The battery life is greatly improved, also I didn't have any UMA to EDGE dropped calls. And the memory leak seems to be better. Overall this seems to be the best build so far, however only time will tell.

Also the device seems quicker as well.

So far so good here, loaded it up this AM and all has been fine with it so far. Gained a little bit of mem at a cold boot, not sure if that's a positive or not.

I'll keep an eye on it, but it seems mostly the same, possibly better responsiveness.

I downloaded and installed yesterday. So far it seems ok, but i have t-mobile and it seemed to remove my favs. And mostly people i talk to are on there so i dont know if its charging me for text and talk. Cause its unlimited with. my favs. anyways, ive had to do a battery pull twice due to freez ups. Only thing ive noticed is the Phonebook, when you add a ringtone ID it shows it at the very bottom in its own section. only thing i noticed. I think im going to downgrade, just because.

I upgrade my OS on my Tmob bb 8320 and I noticed i lost myFaves also, didn't use the one through tmobile though. how can I get it back? or do I need to install the software from Unsupported Browser ? if so can someone kindly explain how I go about going from the 4.5 I have from bb site to 4.5 from t-mobile, I need myfaves back...

thanks :)

None of those things have made it into any revision. The device looks best when using the Alpha Sans font, anyway (IMO, that's one of the best things about 4.5.)

.102 has been the most flawless OS to date. I haven't had a single issue with it. It just works. All the time.

Agreed 100%

...and .102 has worked flawlessly for me as well...at least for the 15 minutes since I finished installing it and restarting my 8300...

Curious to see how this runs throughout the day. I found that .93 had become a bit laggy at times.

Also had another issue that may, or may not, be related to the OS version at all: I depend pretty heavily on voice dialing. With my old 1st generation jawbone, it worked very consistently; only problem was that the jawbone was a poor fit for me (even with jabra mini gels retrofitted onto it), and the Jawbone eventually fell apart. I tried a Blueant Z9i, and that worked - but I found the sound quality disappointing after the Jawbone, and was told that people I called found my sound somewhat muffled - and that they could also hear more background noise than when I used the old Jawbone. So I returned the Z9i and picked up a 2nd generation Jawbone: back to excellent sound quality, but I'm finding that when I first activate voice dialing, 7 or 8 times out of 10, the voice dialing feature acts as if I didn't speak the first time I try to request a number and requests that I "say a command!" a second time -- after which it works as expected.

Only reason I'm posting here is that I'm wondering if there are any OS-related issues that might impact the way voice dialing over bluetooth is handled...?

This version, .102, is really good. The memory leak is not as bad as before, the battery life has improved A LOT, and the UMA pickup is very fast. The OS seems "snappier." I'm very happy with this version, probably the best 4.5 I've tried so far!

Does the keyboard become inactive when you press MUTE button?

Since upgrading my 8320 to this version, if I press the MUTE button to go into Standby mode, any key will turn on the screen, not just the MUTE button.

Anyone else?

Could be a 3rd party program, not sure.

With 4.5 in standby mode any of the top row of buttons will light the screen momenraily. The device should stay in standby until mute is pushed again.

This is what I am seeing. I guess this was true of 4.2.2.x?

No, 4.5 is different than 4.2

Well, that kind of sucks. Oh well. The other improvements are worth it.

Thanks John!
