8520 Screen interference ?

Hello everyone. I'm new here so I'm sorry if I'm doing something wrong. I have owned a few 8520's since there release and some had this problem and some didn't. Basically I get this slight fuzz or lines going up and down the screen ever so faintly but enough to annoy me. They are most noticeable when I'm using appworld (against dark blue) or viewing a page with greys etc. My girlfriend still has an 8520 and hers don't have this problem. I've also noticed that her screen shows whites better than mine does (both set to 100%) as mine has a slight yellow-ish tint to it. Is my blackberry knackered? Should I change the screen ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thankyou for allowing me to be a part of this, so far awesome community of Blackberry owners. Thanks

I would buy a new device not in the Curve family. Curves, particularly 8500-series Curves, were plagued with problems.

C'mon mate... They don't cost £500. You can get a new 9900 or even a 9860 for under £300 on Amazon or Expansys, and probably close to the same prices at CPW or P4U. You'll spend more money and time faffing about with Curve devices.

Definitely don't spend money to fix it. Live with it if you have to, or buy something better.

Re: 8520 Screen interference ?

That's not strictly true as I have owned both curve and bold devices and have experienced problems with both. My 9700 liked turning itself off randomly for instance. I am comfortable with dismantling my own device so I'm sure it would be an inexpensive repair anyway seen as the lcd screens for them are only about £10 online. The thing is, I don't particularly want "something better". I have owned "better" devices in the past such as the Bold 9900 and I had major problems with that phone including the terrible battery life and screen that gets so hot it feels as though its melting. I don't need a top of the range phone, The 8520 pushes my emails down to me, browses the internet just fine and allows me to chat on bbm with my friends and connect to wi-fi for faster browsing. So why on earth would I want to spend good money on a "new" phone when this one does everything I need it to? Seems as though everyone just wants the latest and greatest fashion accessory going! Well I'm not buying into it until this thing explodes or something! All I'm looking for is advice on wether or not to change the lcd or buy a donor phone to use the motherboard if something has gone on that of course. Anyone else have experience with 8520s having the same sort of issues ? To tell you the truth I love my phone, even though it aint the fastest, latest and greatest piece of kit it's still my beloved phone and I kind of want to save it because I know I can. Just how?

If you are happy with the 8520 and you can repair it for less than buying a replacement, that is fine. Just from reading the forums, however, it sounds like more trouble than it's worth, at least it would seem that way for most. Different strokes.
