bbm contact pictures dont show
 

im an old bb user but just bought a new 9300. my BBM doesnt display contact pictures nor does my pic show on my contacts'. i got a pop up message that i figured might be related. it said that blackberry messenger registration was unsucessful, but upon re-trying to register through My Profile, it still came up with the same message. i already tried:

1. batterry pulls
2. deleting then re-inviting contacts
3. upgrading bbm from 5.0 to 6.0
4. reboot
5. uninstalling then reinstalling bbm
6. reboot again
7. options>advanced options>host routing table>register now

none of them worked. couldnt find anything else to try online. please help.

Does the new BB have a blackberry Data plan? if it does then read here.

thank you for your reply, tsac. i read the link.

it has data plan, yes. and the pictures that arent showing are those that are already added as contacts. i can only view the pictures of my those who have changed their pics but not those who havent, which is fine cause i assume all my contacts will update their pics in the future anyway. but the more pressing issue is, none of my contacts can view my own picture even if i update it. messages are going through fine though.

I can find nothing that can cause this except possibly interference from another App you downloaded or if the OS is corrupted. If it is it might be worth either replacing or updating. Look in the device specific section of the forum for info on the latest OS. Also in the FAQ section you will find further info on updating. Good luck and post if this works.

i have read somwhere that this issue actually resolved on its own overnight or after a couple of days with some people who experienced the same problem. i wish it's just a server delay issue. i havent downloaded anything else yet but just the common apps cause it's a new phone. but sure, i will look into updating the OS if needed. that's the only thing i havent tried. fingers crossed. thanks, tsac. :)
