I wish someone would create one with a loader :(
I am sick of turning on the old laptop just to load random applications.

I've done a fair amount of work with PocketMac solutions over the years from what I hear it's in the works for a future release. Possibly the next I hope?

Do you know how to use Blackberry as a modem for a Powerbook?

Funny you should ask I just got a 7290 I let you know how I make out...

kaseiffert 01-31-2005 07:48 AM

I've got the 7520 I'm using with Pocket Mac and my Powerbook G4. It works great, with the usb cable

The 7520 has Bluetooth..... I'd love to be able to sync it through bluetooth and/or use the 7520 as a modem/nic for the over the air access, using bluetooth.

Has anyone tried this? What settings are you using.

I'll keep experimenting, if I discover anything I'll post.

PocketMac syncs Cal, Contacts, Notes, Tasks etc. not email.

So if you switch your mail client to Entourage you will be able to sync your email right?

No, I think the only way to sync email is if your connected to a BES.

MichaelT 02-01-2005 01:02 PM

Have not tried that option, regarding Entourage. But I read somewhere that some users have tried and it does not sync using PocketMac. However, i read the M$ website that there a way to sync entourage to an exchange server, thus if that is possible, theorically speaking you could sync it via BES OTA. Any comments?

Michael

With PocketMac no, you may want to look at SyncAgain from EPICAD www.epicad.com that might do the trick?

MichaelT 02-02-2005 02:23 AM

Thanks. I have looked at them, but am waiting for standalone version to come out.

kaseiffert 02-02-2005 09:10 AM

I sync with Entourage on my Powerbook using pocket mac. It does not synch email at all but if you have your webclient set up or a BES server account ithe mail syncs pretty well over the air. (Webclient only syncs new mail comming in to the pop 3 server.)

Complete newbie here and new owner of my first personal (e.g not work issued) Blackberry - T Mobile 7730 for use with a Mac and Entourage. Understand that I will need a product like PocketMac® For BlackBerry®

What about initial setup of the Blackberry and subsequent "customization" using the Blackberry Desktop Software. For example, I understand that the only way to eliminate the "Sent from my Blackberry Wireless" automatic signature is by using the desktop software.

My questions - Will PocketMac For BlackBerry allow such customization? Or, must I first "set up" my Blackberry using a Windows machine (which I hate) and then reconnect my Blackberry to my Mac and synch using Pocketmac?

Many thanks and hope to be a frequent user of this board for tips, tricks and other ideas.

since upgrading to os 4.0 when i sync tasks with ical the due dates are always lost (so i have to go back into ical to do items and reload all the dates) on both the desktop and blacberry. they only stay when they agree beforehand - if i change somthing on the handset it gets lost when i sync.

any ideas how to fix this?

macman 03-15-2005 12:19 AM

I'm dying to have Pocketmac be able to sync your sent email with your entourage sent folder!!!! I also want a installer option, to be able to install using Pocketmac!!!

Macman, long live the Mac!!
