"My Number"

I just purchased an unlocked blackberry tour. However, when i go to make a phone call, the "my number" shows up as a number i have never seen before nor is close to my number i have. How can i change this? I have tried many ways already, and also searched the forums. I went to options>advanced options>sim card>phone number and changed it. From here i did reboot my phone and still no luck. The number still remains to be the unfamiliar number. Any help? This is really bugging me!

Thanks

Check & correct country code

Check & correct cournty code...

Call log-Smart Dailing-Country code- set correct country code.

You can check/correct other setting in this tab also.

evenif problem remains...than check with other sim.

Parag

I had this when i got a tour 9630 to use in the uk, when i put my sim card in "My number" was some odd no ive never seen, i found on another forum to dail ##000000 then send, it takes you to th CDMA service edit screen, i cahnged the mobile directory number to my uk number and the IMSIS to my uk number and now it shows me the correct phone o, Im not too sure what consequences this may have an a us network but works fine for me !!!! may be worth writing down what the orig nos were and if you have a prob just re input them ??

below is the post given by the original person and a link to that post (USER NAME JRSCCivic98) Credit where Credit is due !!
wrong phone number on " my number" - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

"Dial ##000000 Send and then edit the number at the top with your own. This however doesn't really matter as it's just the CDMA programming on the phone.... something not being used since you're with a GSM provider (T-Mobile). You can Zero out the number of put your own number in and then hit Menu/Save and it'll reboot. Once it's back up it'll have your number in there. Also, as of OS5, you can turn off the My Number option under Phone/Menu/Options and not have it display on the Phone screen. That way you won't see it no matter what number it is set to."

Excellent!! This worked for me! Thank you so much for the tip.

I have an unlocked Tour here in Singapore (our telcos don't bring in the Tour at all) and was irked by the number whenever I dial. It was not a deal breaker, but had loved to have it display my number instead. Followed the instructions and successfully changed the number. Thanks again!

Hi jzachlee,
Btw, what is your carrier in singapore?
My unlocked tour can't work in Starhub network. I tried it with the blackberry prepaid just to make sure everything is ok before signing the 2 year plan. When I called Starhub CS, they just replied that 9630 is not supported by Starhub because 9630 is CDMA device.
It has been working well in Indonesia and Phillippine GSM network so far. Thanks!
