Buy 8800 or 8310 or 8110???

Hi

I am looking to buy a BB for my dad. He has a company phone but would like to get a personal one for picking up his email mainly and some internet use.

He needs one with a fairly easy keypad to use. Looking to get a cheap handset off ebay hence why I am not looking at any of the newer handsets.

Your feedback is much appreciated!!!

I don't have experience with the others, but I did use an 8820 for a few years, and my wife uses it now. Is is a solid divice. The 8800 is an old, old device in smart phone terms, and I don't think it has wifi capability. Browse the for sale items on the forum. I would think even the 9700 is getting into the low price range for used devices by now; maybe not down where the 8800 is at, but then it isn't antique yet, either.

Be careful about buying used BlackBerrys. See the article about buying one via eBay at blackberryfaq.com. It applies in general to buying second hand.

Before you get a used BB, regardless of the source, read this from our FAQ: Buying a BlackBerry off eBay - BlackBerryFAQ

And I agree with the above, those are all pretty much old devices and have already reached the "end of life" with most carriers. I would opt for something a bit newer - 8500, 8900 or 9000, if you don't want the newest ones.
