hey all I took phone to Cellular X paid 30$ how do I check to see if phone is unlocked they did it under settings some were when I went back to see the night worker at mall thanks I got no sim card here till Thursday or till the 15th of this month. the 9600 was originally FIDO I hated them they messed me around hope this explains thanks

ok NJ black what happen was: I took the Blackberry to get unlocked. 2 he said do you have sim card I said no. 3 he said well come back in 30 minutes so I did then he said it is unlocked now. I yesterday Aug 11th took my phone to a guy he took his sim card out put in mine it would not read it said Rogers on it and then he took out i called the guy who i got unlocked from he said it is otherwise he not charged me. and then he said there is a net works and connection he said this was off that prob why my pic of the tower was not communicating. he turned it on. and when he put the Virgin mobile card in it read so i said ok thanks and left hope this is better explanation

What did "not work" about the procedure?

You MUST have a SIM Card for it to "work".

What happened when you typed MEPD?

it says SIM disables and net work disabled as well, network subset disabled as well and corporate disabled as well.

but weird when I put a Koodo card in it would not read and when the guy unlocked it he used a virgin Mobile card it read .

it was locked to Fido then I went to cellular X asked how much to unlock it they said 35 but gave me it for 30.00$

That's great. Are you sure that Koodo/Telus have HSPA service where you live?

Virgin uses Bell's network, so it will be different than Koodo or Fido/Rogers.

I got no clue what HSPA means all I know is it is unlocked the guy took his sim card from his phone into mine in front of me it went but Kood sim did not work last night on my unit so I may have to try TELUS sim card they said as ling as not the small card like Iphone 4S use or 5s.
