Would be nice if you told how to use the BB as a modem. I still can't use internet in Linux.

however, being a non-pro with ubuntu, i ran into a problem at the following steps: with ./buildgen.sh at this step, i get the following error in terminal: ./buildgen.sh: 83: aclocal: not found with ./configure --enable-gui at this step, i get the following error in terminal: bash: ./configure: No such file or directory not sure why, i actually don't know what these commands mean ? ./ what does this tell terminal to do ? |

You need to add "automake" to your system. I think you can do that by going into synaptic package manager. Here's my problem people......hope someone can help: Done everything and when I go to do this step "./buildgen.sh" I get this error: libtoolize: Consider adding `AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIR([m4])' to configure.ac. Now, I believe this has something to do with a "dirty macro" or something having to do with automake but I'm not that linux savvy yet. Help me ObiWan! |
harryzuluberries, thanks i'll add automake and see if this takes....

i'm using 8.10
i installed the item listed as "automake" within synaptic, but i still got errors at those commands....i found multiple "automake" entries in synaptic... even more aggravating is that i cannot remove blackberry and barry directories from the src directory.... |

any news on progress of Barry ?
i had a run in with 9.04, and wound up reinstalling 8.10 from scratch... finally configured ubuntu the way i'd like. but before i install automake, which version is the latest, 1.4, 1.7, 1.9 ? version 1.7 shows up at the top, followed by 1.9.... |

Any chance you would work on a debugger to talk to the Storm over bluetooth? For Linux development, you could use your tools to build apps and load them onto the device, but no way to debug... Or perhaps if you have more tips along those lines, add to your www page? Thanks for the tools! |
excellent
