Curve -> Tiger Mac Backup
Realize this may be a 'dumb' question, however, I need to 'backup' my Curve to my Mac (system not .Mac). I have PacketMac 4.x installed.
I only want/need to do a traditional backup, e.g., offload what's there in the event an OS upgrade goes awry. I no interest in 'syncing', e.g. aligning ical on my Mac with the calendar on my Curve, nor my address book on my curve with the address book on the Mac, etc. - How do I do a full backup? - Once complete how do I do a full restore if necessary? Thanks much in advance. EP |
Bump.
Someone has to know the answer to this? Or at least be willing to share some knowledge? If a sync is the equivalent of a 'full backup' please have the courtesy to explain. Thanks. EP |
Sorry, you can't do what you want to do. There is no way to back up the OS, especially on a Mac.
Even on a Windows PC, the backup via Desktop Manager only backs up data and settings... not the actual OS or applications. On a Windows PC, you could always use Desktop Manager to reinstall the handheld OS in the event that you need to recover from a device failure. Unfortunately, on Mac OS X there is no such capability. |
