ANOTHER Damned Outage!!! >=(

It's currently about 10 'til 3 in the AM here in the Mid-Atlantic region, and I once again have NO data service from my BWC/BIS!!! No new email, no Internet Browser, hell, I can't even load the T-Zones webpage or any other WAP pages! :x

In fact, the ONLY data service of ANY kind that I have working is Opera Mini! By some miracle, whatever portion of the WAP service it uses is still working... for now.

But what I really want to know is, just what in the bloody hell do T-Mobile and RIM have against us night owls? :-?

Because these outages are ALWAYS late at night, during the time when there's NOTHING on TV, and I'm getting bored, causing me to reach for my :bb:. It's getting bloody ANNOYING the way these outages ALWAYS happen when it's the most inconvenient for me!!! :x

NickfromIL 05-03-2008 02:15 AM

Don't worry, its not just T-Mobile, same here on VZW

zerog46 05-03-2008 02:16 AM

It's a scheduled outage. Upgrades needed.

NJBlackBerry 05-03-2008 02:21 AM

Damn those scheduled maintenance windows that they communicated to customers and can be found on dataoutages.com...

Doesn't really make it any less of an inconvenience though

NJBlackBerry 05-03-2008 02:29 AM

All systems need maintenance, don't they?

Yes, it is inconvenient. And necessary.

aiharkness 05-03-2008 02:35 AM

Yes, it's going to happen, needs to happen, and it's going to be inconvenient for some people. I think's Jack's toungue is in his cheek . . . "But why does it have to happen when I'm awake?"

NickfromIL 05-03-2008 02:39 AM

Indeed it does interrupt the night owls most, but you obviously still have an internet connecting, and while there may be nothing on TV, there is the whole web to search and explore.

I am very thankful that my ability to tether does not get affected by these outages.

Any lead time on how long this will last?

Cory Scheuer 05-03-2008 04:14 AM

4 hours....

This maybe wishful thinking, but maybe RIM is updating BIS to the newest version so we can view html emails, when they release OS 4.5 for the 8300 and 8800 series.....

Every bit of info about this outage is on dataoutages.com ;-)

For JTC, I would think it's just a 1-vs-100 thing as everyone else is sound asleep.

JSanders 05-03-2008 06:30 AM

Wow! an itty mitty anger issue going on here.

The news of this was posted here a week ago.

Okay so I should have known but I missed it - how emb arassing. Why couldn't RIM just push a PIN message to everybody?

Yes virginia there is a santa claus

JSanders 05-03-2008 06:35 AM

Yes on Santa Claus, no to RIM notifications unless you pay for Tier 4 or 5 tech suppoprt. Afterall, this ain't Kansas, Toto.

NJBlackBerry 05-03-2008 06:44 AM

If you subscribe to the Dataoutages mailing list you get a notification...
It exists because RIM doesn't send out notices to everyone.

whsbuss 05-03-2008 07:18 AM

Well they once again missed their maintenance window. Still down at 8:18 EDT.

whsbuss 05-03-2008 07:30 AM
