iOS5 Tip: Shortcuts (like AutoText)
 

For years BlackBerry users have benefited from AutoText (now called Word Subtitution), which I use quite a bit with my BB.

Now with iOS5 they finally have a similar feature called Shortcuts. To find it tap on Settings -> General -> Keyboard.

At the bottom of the screen you will see the Shortcuts, with the first one already added: omw = On my way!

To add more, tap Add New Shortcut and add all the new ones you want.

OH, bless you Apple for adding this feature!

I am not sure this is a great step forward. We now will have properly spelled words that make a sentence completely nonunderstandable.

I am going tomato on a rain to Clover.

this is one of my best pranks when i see other peoples iphones... i change common words to obscure words. makes the text they send more interesting.

Yep, the whole shortcuts are a blessing at times. I've added stuff like OMG and OMFG.

However, sending a text to your mother and typing OMFG instead of OMG may cause her to go O.o

True story. I have actually done that. Well, actually I sent LMFAO. Mum did not appreciate. -_-
