Windows 7 (64bit) + Outlook 2007 = calendar sync problems
Hello All,
Is there anyone able to sync his BB (mine is a bold 9700) with his Outlook 2007 calendar under win7 64bit? I can't get this to work. It only works one way (comp -> bb), and it doesn't even give an error, it just doesn't do it. I use the latest DTM ofcourse. Is there anyone that could confirm that he has this working? Did you also have problems at first, and what did you do to fix this? Is there a way around this problem that works? I read about DTM not supporting 64bit, so should I use an alternative? Please tell me if it simply doesn't work (then I will downgrade to 32bit) or that there is a way around this. |
desktop manager definately works under x64.
unforuntately, i never used outlook, so cant help with that; but it does work under 7 x64. |
Yes I know DTM works, but it is clearly not able to fully communicate with outlook.
Does anyone else know how to solve this? As I read the internet on this subject I found out there are more people with this problem, but I can't find out whether there is a solution to this problem. |
Same issue
I have the same issue except I have Win7 pro 32 bit and Outlook 2007, everything but the Calendar sync's fine.

What version of Desktop Manager are you using?
|
I use Windows 7 64-bit and have had no problems using Desktop Manager to sync between my BB (9630) and Outlook 2007. So it definitely works. I'm at a loss to even know what to suggest since mine worked flawlessly on both an older computer that was upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit and on a brand new computer that came with it loaded.
Only thing I can think of is to be sure that you have double checked all the settings to ensure that everything is set for two way sync. |

Might help to look at the error log.

Solution for sync with Outlook
Its because at the installation of your desktop manager you have to choose to install a business mail account. Then it will ask you witch one, you will answer Outlook. From there on, desktop manager will install the outlook sync specifications. I've been searching for two days before I've found this very welcomed solution at last. I was so furstrated. :0)
So even if you dont have any real business account. You need to choose that setting to get access to Outlook syncronisation with BB. I suggest you just reinstall your Desktop Manager and be carefull during the installation so you will chosse business account. (not those exact words, but you will recognise it, there is only one choice anyway, wo pretty easy.) Take care all. Hope will be very useful. Dave Murray Desktop Manager 6 |

Try DTM v6. That should clear up the problem. I was running Win7/64 with Office/Outlook 2007 and DTM v5.0 and had no problems. When I upgraded to Outlook 2010/32 bit, it wouldn't sync anything. When DTM 6 was released recently I upgraded and everything is fine now.
When you upgrade, you may have to reset your sync settings. |
