"This is a Wi-Fi" service" error message

I just got my bold a few days ago and love it except for some problems with the browser. Sometimes when i click a link or on a site or type it in manually in the "go to" window i get this error.

This is a wi-fi service. Please ensure your device has an active wi-fi connection and try again.

I have not tried to use wi-fi yet and just want to use the att 3g network

The 3g symbol is on the screen and wi fi is turned off. My browser is set to internet browser/ internet explorer. This seems to happen randomly and it doesnt matter if i click on a link in an email or in my bookmarks or just on the current webpage.

fyi I have os v4.6.0.167 platform 4.0.0.157

I was thinking of upgrading but I saw some people were having issues with the newer ones as well.

I think i may of just figured it out. If you change the browser in the options/ browser configuration my phone wasnt saving the changes. I went to the main settings page and changed the default browser and now it seems to work and lets me change my home page. Is this this home page problem everyone has or is there still a bug.

You should definitely update your OS as well. .167 is pretty rough going.
