twitter for BB updated to BETA-II status.
 

For those of you out there who happen to be twitter users or in some cases like me, twitter fiends, the second v1.1 beta was released a few days ago. Now normally a beta release isn't worth it's own thread but before RIM puts out a IIIrd beta and destroy what i consider to be the greatest twitter for bb version, I thought i'd put up this thread to spread the word about this fine fine release.

Twitter for BlackBerry is currently in the v1.1 beta stages to keep it going strong, and with the release of the Beta-I .16 version, i was super super disappointed. So i wrote them a somewhat fueled and thorough breakdown of how they f'ed up what i considered a decent release in the final 1.0 leaked release.

Well, about two weeks later the Beta-II .17 version came out and it is ubertastic. It is everything the .16 version wasn't. super fast, beautiful to look at, the not so push mentions work now, Geo-tagging is fab, tweet count is accurate, but most importantly, it is faaaaaast. Noticeably faster. Unlike any version prior. I can also finally post pics over wifi which is something i couldn't do in any previous versions.

So if you're not part of the bb beta program i suggest you go sign up and d/l this great release before .18 comes out and i wont be able to send pics over wifi again, haha. ;)

bummer. in the instructions before you go to install, it says to uninstall your previous version, restart, then install the new version. i didn't do that with the previous beta and had a terrible experience then wrote rim a heated email about how they destroyed twitter, only for them to point out to me in a reply that i didn't uninstall the previous version, lol! What a monkey i am sometimes lol.
