Free mapping application that does not require internet
 

Hi
I'm looking for a free Blackberry application (compatible with 9700 bold) for mapping in the UK, that doesn't need to be connected to the internet. It should have the ability to add a large number of POIs in bulk (around 1000 in any format). I was very happy with Nokia maps on my previous phone - I could download the map of the UK to my phone and add as many POIs as I wanted, and it didn't need internet after that. Hope there is something similar for Blackberry.
Any help appreciated.

+1 for that question.

Have been using Nokia maps & a Nokia GPS receiver for a couple of years. Works brilliantly & only one download of all maps & then no data charge or usage at all.

I go off the beaten track a lot so A) Don't want to run out of maps & I know I go where there's no mobile coverage B) After not paying for maps I don't want to start paying now.

Well have a look at nogago.com at the product nogago Outdoor GPS... they offer offline maps and tracking support to your Blackberry(R) GPS.

i don't think this is possible without internet connectivity .

The problem is the memory requirememnts to load the map data at all the various levels of detail required. BBs don't have that much avaialable memory and typically do not allow apps to run from the SD card.

Why dont have a look at nogago als Volz Innovation suggested?
I made a map of southwest europe. it did take about 1to2GB on my SD card. No problems.
