Latest OS: 8900 5.0.0.1728/50.0.1067 (All Languages)

Software For BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8900 smartphone
Will load to any carrier's 8900 by following the instructions below.

BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.1728 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 5.0.0.1728
Consisting of:
  • Applications: 5.0.0.1067
  • Software Platform: 5.2.0.96
  • File name: 8900M_PBr5.0.0_rel1728_PL5.2.0.96_A5.0.0.1067_AT_T .exe
  • File size: 132.3MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

There are both All and Multilanguage versions of this OS file available at the AT&T link below:

Download the OS file here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E4F82F9F00E7D4

Instructions to install on ANY 8900 from ANY CARRIER.

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Re: Latest OS: 8900 5.0.0.1728/50.0.1067 (All Languages)

loader.exe is in the same exact place as the vendor.xml file you deleted.

32bit windows OS -> c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
64bit windows OS -> c:\program files (x86)\common files\research in motion\apploader

Re: Latest OS: 8900 5.0.0.1728/50.0.1067 (All Languages)

Okay, confused. Mine loaded now is according to about:

v5.0.0.1036, bundle 1682, platform 5.2.0.104

Loaded from file 8900M_PBr5.0.0_rel1682_PL5.2.0.104_A5.0.0.1036.exe

So this is a later package Version: 5.0.0.1728

Applications: 5.0.0.1067
Software Platform: 5.2.0.96
File name: 8900M_PBr5.0.0_rel1728_PL5.2.0.96_A5.0.0.1067_AT_T .exe

The bundle is later, applications later but the plaform earlier. So the upgrade doesn't go unless I say to go ahead and put on the older version.

So am I better with an older application package and newer platform or vice versa? Or is there a way to get both?

Re: Latest OS: 8900 5.0.0.1728/50.0.1067 (All Languages)

Hello,
I have done exactly as said, but when I click loader.exe, it just opens an application loader.
I can backup my applications and data on my blackberry and reupload it to my phone, but it doesn't change the OS, it just skips that for some reason.
What am I doing wrong?:?

I have downloaded the OS and have tried loading the version but any time I do that it will appear on the DM that 'waiting for device initialization' and on the smartphone screen it appears that 'reload software 507' and I've tried doing it all again but it gives the same message. Kindly help!

I think this firmware is fake. i have tried many times by deleating .vendor.xml, still the appLoader cannot see it.

Wow.
Are you sure that you followed the instructions TO THE LETTER - download, install to PC, etc and looked for ALL COPIES of Vendor.xml?

Re: Latest OS: 8900 5.0.0.1728/50.0.1067 (All Languages)

NJBlackBerry, i have totally de-install Blackberry desktop 6.1 app and the whole BB / RIM folder.

I have than install a clean installation for BB desktop 6.1 and this latest version of the firmware (1067). I than removed vendor.xml and run the apploader app. However It will NOT load this latest version so I will keep version 1036. Why is that?????

Again I am VERY disappointed that with BB6.x desktop I cannot load the newest firmware into my BB 8900 (I have the previous version installed). I have removed the vendor.xml file but the loader will NOT see/load the newest firmware for updating.

I am very very frustrated about this! :-(

From Sound Bridge software FAQ link.

https://soundbridge.roku.com/support/faq.php

"Does SoundBridge support iTunes' playlists?

Yes, you can play the playlists you have already created in your music jukebox software, including "smart playlists". Simply navigate from the SoundBridge main menu to the Playlists option. They appear alphabetically by name. You can select one or more playlists to play, and skip between the songs in the playlist, just as you would from your music jukebox software.
"
