edge in small letters
 

Hi there,

I have been using the Blackberry Tour 9630(Verizon device) since a year and a half now with the BIS plan from Vodafone in Mumbai. I initially had an issue with getting edge in small, but after upgrading the OS to 5.04 the issue was resolved. Now after using it for so long, I switched the SIM with a Tata DoCoMo SIM, to test the network (didnt have the BIS on Tata service). Now when I put back the Vodafone SIM, it does not work. Edge comes in small.

I tried soft reboot, then hard reboot, removing and re-inserting the SIM after about 5 mins, nothing worked. I tried the SIM on my dad's BB Curve which works fine. I also tried it on my brothers phone (same BB Tour) and now both his and my BIS service stopped working. I also tried WIPE, downgrading OS and upgrading it again, but none worked.

Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

How was the issue resolved initially?

Is the 9630 device supported by vodafone or Tata?

Is your dads curve supported by vodafone and / or Tata?

My only guess is you somehow had the proper service books for Vodafone and all was working until you switched the SIM and lost them.

Try resending the service books and then doing a battery pull.

initially the issue was resolved just by upgrading the OS to version 5

by service books do you mean host routing table and register device? cuz that doesnt work

both my dad's phone and mine support any services. so if i put my SIM in his phone, the device will say registered to blackberry and the EDGE would show in capital, but not on the Tour
