OS: 9000 Bold 4.6.0.513/4.6.0.301 (Multilanguage & EastAsian)
Software For BlackBerry® Bold (TM) 9000 smartphone
BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.0.513 (Multilanguage and East Asian) Package Version: 4.6.0.513 Consisting of: * Applications: 4.6.0.301 * Software Platform: 4.0.0.245 * File name: 9000M_PBr4.6.0_rel513_PL4.0.0.245_A4.6.0.301_AVEA. exe * File size: 96.81MB Both Multilanguage and EastAsian version contain English. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. 2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." 3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file. The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the AppLoader says "waiting for initialization." If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device. Previous OS version 4.6.0.297 here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...l-release.html Previous OS version 4.6.0.292 here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html |
I vote for sticky. Just one more thing, does this os still have the 3g and 2g switch in the options and will vvm work with att.

Anytime I change the OS on my Blackberry, do I have to get the admin to send me a new activation code to register my device on the BES? ie is there any way around having to ask the admin to send a new registration code each time I change the OS? Thanks. |

Apploader says this version will downgrade VVM. If you change the attribute to "false" so it will give you the option to uncheck VVM, it will remove the application. Has anyone tried the VVM in this version?

Has anybody put this os on their Bold and what's the report, good or bad?
|
I know a couple people using it, they have not reported anything adverse. Working fine.
|
No issues so far.. upgrade went without a hitch. Had to do a quickpull because it was messing up my theme, but that was it.
|
So far so good

Note, however, our office BES has very few restrictions placed on it so it may be more liberal than your BES. However, it would be worth a try to use DM instead of uploader.exe. Just do it when your IT people are available, otherwise you will loose your contacts etc until reactivated. |

Media and calendar wouldn't work. Blackberry messenger wasn't there even after activating the blackberry.
Blackberry App world wouldn't download saying I didn't have a compatible version. Downgraded. |
