I have just been installing over the old version using the OTA link. If you get that weird message about duplicates, you can always go to Applications -> modules and remove the old one.

Invalid tunnel name in BBWeather

Hi, I am new to BlackBerry world and I am trying to add BBWeather to my phone. However, it gives me an invalid tunnel name error. I looked into the source code and I noticed that it does not have the updated link for Weather SOAP. I fixed this issue and it works fine in simulator but i cannot add to my phone for RIM Signature issue. Can some one update the SOAP link
WEATHER_SOAP_REST = "&prod=xoap&par=1006814500&key=ee4ffa68f8bf99cd&un it=";

by adding
&link=xoap between &prod=xoap and &par=1006814500

Do I have to buy RIM Signatures for developing applications?

John Clark 05-17-2008 11:07 AM

This app has already been fixed for the weather URL. There is an OTA link and a .zip file in the first post of this thread. The version you need should be .76 or higher.

nirensinha 05-17-2008 11:55 AM

I did that and still get Error:Invalid tunnel name. I am using Wifi to connect. Is there something else I need to do

John Clark 05-17-2008 11:58 AM

If you're on a BES the app will work with no modifications.

If you're not on a BES then you have to add the proper apn into the TCP settings and check the box in BBWeather that says "disable MDS proxy."

Go to Options >Advanced Options >TCP. For TMobile the apn should be:

apn:wap.voicestream.com
username
password

leave username and password blank.

This is all in this particular thread.

nirensinha 05-17-2008 12:05 PM

Thanks a lot my friend I appreciate your help. It works with TCP.
Is there a way to use Wifi and not WAP.

John Clark 05-17-2008 12:06 PM

Nope. If you've got UMA you'll get it all over wifi, of course.

nirensinha 05-17-2008 12:10 PM

UMA is that HotSpot@home thingy right.

Anyways thanks alot.

John Clark 05-17-2008 12:11 PM

Yes, it's the hotspot at home thingy.

Thank you so much for the BBWeather rewrite. I love the app!!!

MrKyoo 05-21-2008 08:39 AM

If you like BBWeather now just wait till you see it in the near future.

apalthree 05-21-2008 03:42 PM

I downloaded BBweather OTA but when I attempt to open the application it states "invalid URL parameter".

John Clark 05-21-2008 03:46 PM

Sounds like you downloaded an old version. You need .76 or higher. Look in Options >Advanced Options >Applications to see what version you got.

The new version is in the first post of this thread.

apalthree 05-21-2008 03:51 PM

Receiving message when I attempt to open BBWeather "Invalid URL Parameter". Help

apalthree 05-21-2008 04:34 PM

I have .77

apalthree 05-21-2008 04:42 PM

Never mind I checked the disable mds box and it works. Thanks
