One photo shows a SKF TMED A1 Chain Sprocket Adapter that is not included but may be out there somewhere.
These devices are used to precisely align V-belt drive assemblies. There are a lot of things that can to be adjusted on drives if you don’t want to come back in a month or two, throw away the ruined belts, and start all over again. And if you foolishly keep doing this over and over, eventually you can count on replacing the pulleys and sheaves along with the belts; again. Great.
Got this thing when I got in the HVAC biz. Amazing eye-opener when you go ahead and align by sight or straight-edge, think you got it, and then slap these things on. Forget it. Lasers are the only way to go.
Very cool design on holding the things in place – super strong magnets.
They work by using the triangular shaped guides that center the laser projectors on the sheaves. The lasers “look” at each other and beam laser lines in perfect alignment onto their graduated scales. Any misalignment in three different planes shows up immediately. Then you start to adjust. And believe me, if you take the time to align V-belt drives using lasers you can walk away from the darn things for a year – or more.
The included guides will handle every V-Belt size on the planet (6mm > 40mm) (0.2” > 1.6” - wow; BIG!) See the photo for more info.
Looks like this model has been replaced by a SKF TKBA 40 that will set you back ~$1,700.00.
