The Hewlett Packard 5386A Frequency Counter is a business and industrial test equipment manufactured by HP. It is designed to measure frequency and is capable of detecting signals up to 3 GHz. However, this unit is missing the high frequency prescalar so it will only work up to 100MHz. I have been using the unit as a 100MHz counter until encountering the current issue of blowing the fuse.I discovered a defective electrolytic capacitor and replaced the capacitor, but the fuse will still blow after several seconds of operation. The soldermask on the PCB has been damaged by the leaking electrolyte - I attempted to clean it but it still blows the fuse. I am selling it as-is for parts condition. There are no returns so please examine the pictures closely.
